NUKE THE SITE FROM ORBIT!!!
Hi. I'm Ronan, more commonly known by dozens of random names. For two years or so I dropped my random name habit and adopted a title for playing BF1942. As it happens whenever I start using the same name, I get kind of known, hated, loathed, feared, despised, and well, you know the drill.

It happened in Jedi Knight 2 with Grip and The SARS Epidemic, it happened in Rune with Bishop and NNY, and it happened with BF1942 and the nonsensical bit of fury known as KAPTAIN KURRUPTO!!!

Generally I find some ridiculous niche in any particular game and turn it into a career, and most people become enraged at my proficiency at whatever aspect of gameplay that I have adopted as my own.

Anyways, I quit playing 1942 a long while back (details here) but over the years compiled various anecdotal bits of information. As one of the Pollards, I've witnessed some of their recent gameplay without actually being a part of it, and they've convinced me that I should take all of that random anecdotal text, compile it, update it, improve upon it, and publish it in a form accessible to all.

And I guess that's what this is.

An attempt to collect and distill as much information about the game as possible, so that the playing field is nominally levelled for all. If everyone understands all of the aspects of the game that the more experienced players do, then things will seem less mystic. You may not be able to shoot as fast, or as accurate, or be able to do this, or that, but at least you will know as much as possible about the game, so that no longer are you mystified by particular goings on.

I do not mean to sound particularly condescending, but it is what it is. I played this game for a long, long time, with some of the best there ever were.

As to what this is supposed to accomplish... Well, the more experienced of you will perhaps learn a thing or two you may not have known about this or that map, while the lesser experienced among you will be able to pick up all kinds of potentially useful information that explains how people do the seemingly miraculous things that they do.

Ultimately I wish this to be seen as a sort of step by step guide to understanding the game better. With that understanding will hopefully come better play, and a deeper, more fulfilling experience for all involved.

Remember, it's not about earning medals, or winning games, or having a high kill to death ratio.

It's about having fun. Sometimes that's standing alone before the fury of his armies, and sometimes that's goofing off in the middle of nowhere, doing donuts with a katyusha.
